Longtime, Decorated Marple Police Sergeant Retires
Sgt. Jeff Haughey earned six letters of commendation, three Excellent Duty awards, two Meritorious Service awards during his tenure.

MARPLE TOWNSHIP, PA — A longtime and decorated member of the Marple Township Police force has retired.
Marple Police said Sgt. Jeff Haughey has retired after nearly 26 years of serving the local community.
Haughey joined MTPD March 8, 1999, being assigned to the patrol division for the majority of his career. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2019.

He has earned six letters of commendation, three Excellent Duty awards, two Meritorious Service awards, and, along with two other officers, was recognized by the Citizens Crime Commission of the Delaware Valley with the “2023 County Award for Outstanding Police Performance” for his part in rescuing an infant being suffocated by the father.
Haughey also served on the Central Delco Tactical Response Team from 2011 until his retirement, rising to the rank of Assistant Tactical Commander.

"Sgt. Haughey’s presence will be missed around the station, but we wish him and his family a happy and successful future," police said in announcing Haughey's retirement.
