Marple Newtown's Color Guard 'Ignites the Light'
Marple Newtown High School's Indoor Color Guard team has been competing in several competitions to their 2012 production "Ignite the Light."
NEWTOWN SQUARE–The Indoor Color Guard Program kicked off its season with a Parents and Fans Night on Friday, Feb. 24. Their 2012 production "Ignite the Light" choreographed by their Instructor Sherwood Soley is set to Boyce Avenue's cover of Katy Perry's "Firework."
The Color Guard Captain is junior Katie Ward. The Marple Newtown High School Band Director is Michael Massimo. The Color Guard has performed at the following Competitions:
- Pennsauken High School–Third place out of seven in their division with a score of 68.
- Rustin High School–Fourth place out of 12 with a score of 68.9.
- Cheltenham High School–Fifth place out of 11 with a score of 67.4.
The squad also competed at Quakertown High School on March 31.
