Potted Plants, Flowers Stolen From Home Depot

Two different incidents were recently reported of a man and a woman stealing potted plants/flowers displayed outside of Home Depot in Broomall.

BROOMALL–On May 30 at approximately 10:23 p.m., Marple police responded to the on Reed Road for a reported theft. According to the report, a complainant observed a man load two plants into his vehicle and drive off without paying.

The plants were on display outside of the store in the parking lot area. The complainant was able to write down the vehicle’s license plate number and the vehicle was stopped at the ramp for Rt. 1, just off of Sproul Road by police.

Police discovered two plants inside the vehicle, according to the report. Both plants still had their price tags on them from Home Depot–one for $99.99 and another for $59.98. The total amount stolen was for $119.98, after the plants’ sale prices. The man was arrested and cited for retail theft.

On May 26 at approximately 7:45 p.m., police responded to Home Depot for a reported retail theft. Police observed a woman stealing flowers off the metal racks behind the Home Depot.

The woman was stopped by an officer, according to the incident report. The total amount of flowers stolen was $50.27. The woman was arrested and cited for retail theft.
