Power Out For Thousands In Delco As Storm Tears Through Region

As of 7 p.m. more than 23,000 PECO customers are without power as a powerful storm barrels down on the Philadelphia area.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Thousands of PECO customers in Delaware County do not have power as a major storm rolls through the Philadelphia region Monday night.

According to PECO's outage map, 23,097 customers in Delco are in the dark, about 10 percent of the company's customer base in the county.

As of 7 p.m., Concord Township has the highest number of customer experiencing outages, with 3,554 customers affected.

The region is under a tornado watch for the time being, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service said the storm is bringing widespread damaging winds and said those in the region should seek shelter.
