School Board to Vote on Staffing Tuesday in Marple Newtown

• School Board: Marple Newtown Board of School Directors meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 27. The board will vote on several teacher resignations, leaves of absence and appointments. Find the full agenda here. 
• Government: Marple Township Environmental Advisory Commission meeting on Aug. 27
• Fun: Two for Tuesday DVD rentals at Marple Library. Rent two DVDS for the price of one. Two new releases at $2.12, two older releases for $1.06 or one of each for $1.53. Children's DVDs are always free.
• Donate: Red Cross Blood Drive—Bryn Mawr Hospital, 130 S. Bryn Mawr Ave, Bryn Mawr from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 27, Marple Presbyterian Church, 105 N. Sproul Rd, Broomall, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 31
• Traffic: Check on your commute on the PennDOT traffic cameras before you leave the house. But the traffic will likely be terrible—it's traffic.
• Weather: The forecast calls for temperatures to reach high-80s with partly cloudy skies. Things are expected to cool down in the evening with thunderstorms expected late in the evening. 
• History: Per the History Channel, on this day in 2007, Michael Vick pleads guilty in dogfighting case.
