St. Alban's Railroad Fellowship Open House This Weekend

St. Alban's Railroad Fellowship will hold public displays on Jan. 21 and Jan. 22 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Newtown Square.

NEWTOWN SQUARE–St. Alban's Railroad Fellowship (StARR) will hold several open houses for the public to view their model trains and railroads. The public will be able to view them on Saturday, Jan. 21, and Sunday, Jan. 22, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at in Newtown Square.

According to their website, StARR's HO scale model railroad, StARR, consists a small (12 feet by 15 feet) permanent section with a larger space (30 feet by 60 feet) devoted to semi-permanent modular extensions. Modules are built to NMRA and Free-mo standards. The layout is controlled by Digitrax DCC and has over 800 pieces of rolling stock.

StARR was formed in 1990 to cater to those who share a common interest in railroading. According to St. Alban's Episcopal Church, the purpose of StARR is to establish a place where people can get together and share knowledge, experiences, stories, skills and information about railroading–both real, and model railroading.
