Hazardous Material Disposal Event Set For Saturday in Delaware County

SHARON HILL, PA — Delaware County residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste this weekend in Sharon Hill.
The disposal event will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Emergency Services Training Center, 1600 Calcon Hook Road in Sharon Hill.
TVs, electronics, appliances, and commercial/industrial waste will not be accepted.

Event workers will unload materials from vehicles.
All substances and materials should be kept in their original containers with labels. Items must be identifiable and materials should not be mixed.

Gas containers will be returned upon request. Those who want their containers returned should attach a note to them.
All containers should have lids tightly secured. Pack leaking containers in larger containers with newspaper to soak up leaks.
The maximum amount accepted per vehicle is 25 gallons total volume or 220 pounds total weight. Five-gallon buckets are the largest container accepted.

*Take off lid, dry out paint, discard can without lid; or pour paint into plastic bag with absorbent material (clay based kitty litter, saw dust, rags) place bag and can without lid, in trash. Paint hardener can also be purchased at hardware stores.
