Week Ahead: Summer Wrap Party, Golf Outing Registration

What's going on this week in Marple and Newtown? Here's what we found but be sure to add anything we may have missed in the comments below.

• Marple Township Zoning Hearing meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 21
• Newtown Township Parks and Recreation meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 20
• Newtown Library Book Sale from Aug. 20-24. Preview sale from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug. 20, $3 at the door. 
• Summer Wrap Party at 6 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Marple Library. For children in grades 6-12. Celebrate the end of the summer with games, food and prizes. The winner of the grand prize for the summer reading program will also be announced. 
• Sign up for Marple Township's 20th Annual Golf Classic on Sept. 23. 
• Marple Newtown High School Freshman/New Student Orientation on Aug. 20 
• Paxon Hollow Middle School 6th Grade Orientation on Aug. 21
• Free Movie Rental Fridays at Marple Township Library  
• Two for Tuesday DVD rentals at Marple Library. Rent two DVDS for the price of one. Two new releases at $2.12, two older releases for $1.06 or one of each for $1.53. Children's DVDs are always free.
• Marple and Newtown libraries are now closed on Sundays through August.
• PRC Newtown Square Farmers Market at Mostardi Nursey on Wednesday 
• Springfield Road in Springfield Township will be closed between Route 1 (State Road) and Old Marple Road on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the end of August.
