Citations Withdrawn In Delco Police Commissioner Crash

Court documents show all citations issued to former Chester Police Commissioner Steven Gretsky have been withdrawn.

CHESTER, PA β€” The former commissioner of the Chester City Police Department had all citations issued to him withdrawn, according to court records.

Steven Gretsky, 47, of Upper Chichester, was issued citations for reckless driving, careless driving, failure to render aid or give information, accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle, and driving at unsafe speeds late last month.

The reason for withdrawing the citations was not clear.

The citations were issued after a Jan. 27 incident in Chester. Pennsylvania State Police said Gretsky, while driving a police vehicle, collided with an unattended delivery vehicle near East 22nd and Hyatt street in Chester just after midnight Jan. 27.

Authorities said Gretsky drove from the scene without providing personal or insurance information.

No one was hurt in the crash, police said.

Gretsky on Jan. 28 announced he was retiring that day from the department.
