Crews Battle Massive Delco Fire Over Weekend

Multiple Delaware County firefighters battled a fire at two garages Saturday night in Media.

MEDIA, PA — A weekend fire in Delaware County prompted numerous companies to respond to quell the blaze.

According to the Media Fire Company, crews were called to the 100 block of Sixth Street for a report of a building fire at about 9 p.m. Saturday.

They found two garages fully involved on Youth Way.

Crews began battling the fire, but due to live electrical wires nearby, firefighters requested PECO cut off service to the area.

After the electricity was stopped, firefighters were able to extinguish the flames.

No one was reported injured.

Crews stayed at the scene for overhaul operations.

The fire's cause is under investigation.

The Media Fire Company was assisted by the Rose Tree, Middletown, South Media, Springfield, Newtown, Swarthmore, Garden City, and Aston fire companies.
