Delco DA Office Worker Charged with Stealing Drug-Forfeiture Funds

A Ridley woman is accused of stealing more than $100,000 from the Delaware County District Attorney's office.

An investigation that began in February uncovered an alleged two-year scheme by an employee of the Delaware County District Attorney’s office that bilked more than $100,000 from drug-forfeiture funds, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

Mary Elizabeth Lynch, 48, of Ridley Township, faces 15 criminal charges including counts of identity theft, theft by deception, forgery, receiving stolen property and tampering with physical evidence. She worked for 29 years in the DA’s office, serving the last four years as a financial administrator, Philly.com reports.

According to reports, Lynch allegedly used some of the money to buy concert and Flyers tickets.

Lynch was arraigned Friday before Judge Deborah Krull, with unsecured bail set at $100,000. Her preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for April 20 at 8:30 a.m.
