Former Linvilla Employee Dies, and Other Obituaries

James Edward McDonald, of Washington Township, N.J. died at 69. McDonald was a bakery manager at Linvilla Orchards before retiring in 2007. 

Julia Ruth Bannar, of Media, died at 93.

R. Thomas Maxwell, Jr., of Aston and formerly of Media, died at 70. Maxwell was an avid golfer and made a hole in one in each decade from the 1960's to the 1990's.

Robert A. Poperechny, of Glen Mills, died at 56. Poperechny, who was born and raised in Media, worked as a plumber and maintenance man at the Glen Mills School.


Amy Marie Swanson, of Pottstown and formerly of Newtown Square, died at 75. Swanson was a 1956 Marple Newtown High School graduate and retired from Tredyffrin-Easttown School District in 2001. She was the first female school bus driver and first female letter carrier for Newtown Square. 

Mary G. Mainardi, of Newtown Square and formerly of Havertown, died on Nov. 5.

Livio Corona, of Springfield formerly of Overbrook, died at 85. 

Carl A. Zimmerman Sr., of Drexel Hill, and formerly of Overbrook, died on Nov. 8.
