Free Coffee At All Wawa Locations Tuesday For Chain's 60th Anniversary

WAWA, PA — Wawa is turning 60, and to celebrate its milestone anniversary is offering free coffee next week at all locations.

Tuesday, April 16 Wawa Day, and this year’s annual tradition will mark Wawa’s 60th anniversary in the convenience retail space.

As part of its celebration, Wawa is offering customers free hot coffee of any size at all of its locations.

Additionally, Wawa is hosting two special events in Philadelphia, one at its 6th and Chestnut store and one at the National Constitution Center.

At 7 a.m. Tuesday, the store at 6th and Chestnut will host a "ceremonial coffee pour" before celebrating customers who are "Day Brighteners." Wawa will recognize three customers at the 6th and Chestnut celebration for their role in making Wawa a "special place filled with heart-warming moments," officials said.

All 1,00 Wawa stores will also select a customer to recognize as a "Day Brightener."

Throughout the day, Wawa expects to give away nearly 1.5 million free cups of any-size hot coffee to customers across all Wawa stores, which will be special decorations and feature special 60-cent promotions for the day!

Also at the 6th and Chestnut store, Wawa and The Wawa Foundation will honor their local and national charity partners, including the Fund for the School District of Philadelphia, by distributing $1 million in gift cards.

Wawa stores in all regions will feature vintage decor, cups, hoagie paper and offer special tumblers for sale. Customers can also get special 60-cent promotions, including a special 60-cent birthday cake donut, as well as teas, juices, lemonade.

At 9 a.m., the National Constitution Center will host a special ceremony during which Wawa will unveil a historic exhibit on Wawa through the years. Free admission will be offered for the day.

Highlights of the event will include the Wawa 1918 Milk Truck, free drinks and snacks, a ribbon cutting for the Wawa History Exhibit, and a Positive Psychology Presentation by University of Pennsylvania professors.

The Positive Psychology Presentation will feature former collegiate and NFL star Devon Still, who will help launch a project to capture and share the opportunities that Wawa creates for customers and communities to pay-forward acts of kindness and positivity and truly brighten days, organizers said.
