Frozen Yogurt Shop Opens on State Street

State Street's newest, sweet treat is open for business even though the shop's decor isn't quite finished yet.

YogurTissimo is the new frozen yogurt shop in the once vacant storefront at 14 State Street in Media, next to Salon Bella Gente.

YogurTissimo opened for business on June 3 but the store's decor isn't quite finished yet, Owner Michele Colandrea says.

The "weigh and pay" shop offers several frozen yogurt flavors and plenty of dry toppings and fruits and syrups to complete your frozen treat.

Colandrea, who also owns Little Anthony's Pizza, says he opened YogurTissimo because State Street was missing a frozen yogurt shop.

"The store space was a good size for it," he says. "We needed something like this on State Street."

The paintings and murals along the walls in YogurTissimo are still waiting to be completed, Colandrea says, but he couldn't wait to open.

"It's going to look good when it's done," he says. "It's only halfway done."

YogurTissimo charges 49-cents per ounce for its yogurt treats and is currently only accepting cash. Credit cards will be accepted in coming weeks.
