Ice On State Promises Wintry Family Fun In Media This Weekend

Don't miss live ice carving, cocktails, music, games, guest appearances, and more Saturday and Sunday on State Street in Media.

MEDIA, PA — Things are about to get icy in Media, as the second annual Ice on State weekend event is all set for Saturday and Sunday.

Ice on State will take place this weekend throughout the State Street District in downtown Media. Artists from Ice Sculpture Philly will carve dozens of custom ice sculptures, sponsored by local businesses and organizations. Sculptures will be featured throughout the State Street District in downtown Media for the weekend.

Ice sculptures will be on display from Saturday afternoon until Sunday afternoon or until the ice melts.

It all begins at 1 p.m. Saturday with a live carving of a full-size throne, at the clock tower on State Street, sponsored by Morris Brothers Investments.

Guests can test their putting skills on a custom miniature golf hole sponsored by Heiler Painting, then duck into participating watering holes throughout the weekend for specialty cocktails served on custom ice luges featuring Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Fireball Cinnamon Whisky.

Another highlight will be a live carving of the iconic Media 101 Trolley on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Plum Street Mall in the center of town, followed by The Big M.A.C. Live Band and Sing Along, starting at 5:30 p.m.

The Media Arts Council will host a hospitality tent featuring cold beer and gourmet spiked hot chocolate from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Kids will be thrilled to meet some popular movie ice princesses and characters on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. and everybody will have fun tossing bean bags through an ice wall.

Guests are encouraged to visit Media’s mix of independent, family-owned shops and restaurants during the weekend.
