Protests Against President Trump To Be Held In Delaware County
The "Good Trouble Lives On" event is being organized in honor of the spirit of civil rights icon John Lewis.

CHESTER, PA — Protests against President Trump's administration and recent policies which critics say are violations of civil and human rights will be held in Delaware County this week.
It's part of a coordinated set of protests and gatherings nationwide coinciding with the date of the passing of Congressman John Lewis, an icon of the civil rights movements for decades. Lewis passed on July 17, 2020.
An event will be held in Chester, on W. 5th Street and Avenue of the Americas, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

"From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights," event organizers said. "But we know the truth. In America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it."
There will also be a candlelight vigil. See details here.

Organizers said they expect all participants to embrace the nonviolent principles advanced by Lewis and championed by the movement, and that protesters should seek to "de-escalate" any potential confrontations with those who disagree with them.
Similar events are also scheduled nearby in other Philadelphia communities, including Ardmore, East Norriton and Ambler.
