- Ancestry: Genealogy Research Workshop at 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 7 at Middletown Free Library. Get access to Ancestry.com's Library Edition and find your heritage.Â

- Weather: The forecast calls for temperatures to reach the high-70s with scattered thunderstorms, which are expected to last into the evening.Â
- History: Per the History Channel, on this day in 1782, General George Washington, the commander in chief of the Continental Army, created the "Badge for Military Merit" or Purple Heart.Â
