Take a Guided Walking Tour Wednesday in Media

• Tour: Preservation Alliance's Architectural Walking Tour of Media at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Meet in front of Delaware County Court House on Front Street. Take a guided tour of your backyard. Cost $10 Adults; $8 Students; Free children 10 and under, accompanied by adult. $5 Preservation Alliance Members (Please show your member card). No registration needed. 
• Yard Waste: Middletown Township Yard Waste Collection 
  
• Ancestry: Genealogy Research Workshop at 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 7 at Middletown Free Library. Get access to Ancestry.com's Library Edition and find your heritage. 
• Entertainment: Media Theatre's The Vocalist (formerly Delco Idol) continues on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. through Aug. 7. FOX-TV's Sue Serio emcees once again in the popular singing contest. Tickets: $15. Call 610-891-0100.
• Music: 22 Park Avenue at Rose Tree Parks Summer Concert Series at 7:30 p.m. 
• Recycle: Area 2 Recycling Collection days in Middletown Township on Aug. 7, 8 and 9
• Food: Dining Under the Stars on Wednesday
• Traffic: Check on your commute on the PennDOT traffic cameras before you leave the house. But the traffic will likely be terrible—it's traffic.
• Weather: The forecast calls for temperatures to reach the high-70s with scattered thunderstorms, which are expected to last into the evening. 
• History: Per the History Channel, on this day in 1782, General George Washington, the commander in chief of the Continental Army, created the "Badge for Military Merit" or Purple Heart.
