Tombstones Broken, Vandalized In Delaware County Cemetery: Police

Pennsylvania State Police said empty alcoholic beverage containers were found in the cemetery where the vandalism and destruction occurred.

THORNBURY TOWNSHIP, PA — Authorities in Delaware County are looking for the people who broke and vandalized tombstones at a local cemetery last month.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the destruction and vandalism were discovered on Feb. 18 at the Thornbury AME Church cemetery in Thornbury Township.

Police said multiple headstones at the cemetery were broken and vandalized.

They also noted multiple empty alcoholic beverage containers were found at the scene.

The cemetery and church do not have external surveillance, police said.

Anyone who has information on the vandalism should contact Pennsylvania State Police in Media at 484-840-1000.
