Unknown Issue Halts Card Payments At Most Wawa Stores Thursday Morning

Wawa said customers were unable to use credit and debit cards for payment for about two hours Thursday at most, if not all, of its stores.

WAWA, PA — Wawa customers were unable to use payment cards for purchases for a few hours Thursday morning at all locations.

According to Wawa officials, Wawa experienced a chain wide credit and debit processing outage that impacted most, if not all, of its stores Thursday morning.

The outage lasted from about 7:15 a.m. to 9:30 am.

Customers are once again able to use credit and debit cards for purchases at Wawa stores.

Wawa officials have not identified the cause of the outage.

The company said the issue appears to have impacted other retailers, as well. We do not have details on the cause at this time. The problem has been resolved and credit/debit is back to normal.
