• Restaurant inspections from Pike County, Dec. 8-14 (poconorecord.com) — Recent state inspections found multiple food safety violations at Pocono Beer & Deli on Route 739 in Milford, including temperature issues and sanitation concerns, though some were fixed on the spot. Other Pike County eateries in Matamoras, Hawley, and Milford’s Waterwheel Café were also inspected, giving residents a timely snapshot of local restaurant cleanliness.
   

• Skylanders women's soccer team wins district championship (spartaindependent.com subscription) — A Milford, Pa., native played a key role in lifting Sussex County Community College’s women’s soccer team to an NJCAA East District Division II championship and a trip to nationals. Sophomore forward Sage Henry contributed crucial goals and assists as the Skylanders rebounded from a poor 2024 season to become regional contenders.
