Brooklyn Man Charged with Using Counterfeit Money at Mall

A Brooklyn, NY man was charged by with attempting to buy items at the Mall at Robinson with counterfeit $100 bills.

Police said 26-year-old Kerven Benoit on May 23 attempted to use fake $100 bills to purchase items at , and .

Police took Benoit into custody in the mall’s parking lot after Sears’ staff members found the bills to be counterfeit. The U.S. Secret Service confirmed the bills as fake, according to a police report.

  • Bruce Michael Gergerich, 61, of Robinson, was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct May 30 near 4200 Steubenville Pike. Gergerich is charged with harassing officers while they reported to the scene of a motorcycle crash.
  • Marlynn Blair Herring, 20, of Pittsburgh, was charged with theft of more than $200-worth of items May 23 at the Mall at Robinson. 
  • Latonia Lucky, 19, of McKees Rocks, was charged with theft of more than $200-worth of items May 23 at the Mall at Robinson.
