Drunk Wheatfield Dad Lets 8 Year Old Drive and Crash SUV

Frank Gordon Conway, 46, is being charged with endangerment, permitting carless driving, and two other charges for the August 4 accident.

Police report that the Wheatfield man was drunk when he let his 8 year old son drive his SUV across a parking lot and into a tree.

Frank Gordon Conway, 46, has been charged with child endangerment, reckless endangerment, allowing an unlicensed driver to use his vehicle and permitting careless driving, according to PennLive.com.

Conway has been quoted as saying he did not see a problem with letting his 8-year-old son steer. The boy told police he was sitting between his father’s legs and operating the steering wheel and the pedals of his 2014 Jeep Cherokee, according to the Tribune-Review.

The boy sustained injuries to his face and sternum. Conway will appear in court for a preliminary on November 19.
