1. Moon Area School Board to vote on district budget

The will meet at 6  tonight in the high school meeting room. The board is expected to vote on the final version of its 2011-2012 budget.

2. Eat 'n Park celebrates Smiley's birthday in Moon

in Moon will ring in the 25th anniversary of its iconic Smiley cookie at 5:30 p.m. today with free cookies and an appearance by Smiley himself. 

Children ages 10 and younger may stop by the restaurant's University Boulevard location to receive a free treat bag and to have their photos taken with the eatery's mascot.

3. Moon Planning Commission scheduled to meet

The Moon Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the township municipal building on Beaver Grade Road. 

4. Homemaker's meeting scheduled for Robin Hill Center

The township's homemaker's group is scheduled to hold a meeting at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the on Thorn Run Road.

5. Moon Area School District receives grant to create anti-bullying multimedia. 

The Moon Area School District earlier this month received a $7,500 grant for students in the district to create anti-bullying multimedia messages. 

The Steam Education Grant, funded through the Grable Foundation, will provide the district with funding to create a series of digital productions, including music, animation and short films, to promote anti-bullying and life skills messages to students.
