Five Things You Need to Know This Week

1. Moon Continues Holiday Inn Hearing

Moon Supervisors plan to continue with two public hearings related to the former Holiday Inn hotel property. The hotel is located within a commercial district, but Robert Morris University is seeking to establish the property at 8256 University Boulevard as a mixed-use educational overlay district. The university also seeks conditional use approval to have the dormitory and mixed use educational development as a permissible use. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Monday, July 22. 

2. Alternative Health Fair

The Robinson Township Library will host a holistic, alternative health fair from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 at the library. Meet holistic health professionals from around the area and learn about alternative medicine solutions.

3. Preservation Plan Meeting

Moon's next Preservation Plan public meeting will take place at the HARB meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, in township municipal office auditorium. The consulting firm will present the inventory of historic resources, give preliminary recommendations, answer questions and seek public input. 4. Family Fun Night

The Moon Parks and Recreation’s Family Fun Series continues on Friday, July 26 with the first movie of the summer. Madagascar 3 begins at dusk and all ages are welcome.

5. Robinson Zoning Hearing Board Meets

Robinson's zoning hearing board will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24 at 1000 Church Hill Road, regarding a special exception request from Levin Furniture, 6528 Steubenville Pike. The board plans a caucus meeting at 6:30 p.m. prior to the regular meeting.
