Homeowner and Dogs Injured in Blaze

The man and his two basset hounds are in good condition after firefighters respond to a house fire on Dover Drive.

A man and his two basset hounds sustained minor injuries Thursday in a fire at a home on Dover Drive. 

The man, whom did not identify, was taken to Heritage Valley Sewickley and treated for smoke inhalation. His dogs, who were at home when the fire broke out, were taken to

Moon Fire Chief John Scott said the dogs and the resident were in good condition.

Scott said the man called 911 after returning home to find heavy smoke in the house around 3:15 p.m.

Firefighters removed the dogs from the home's second floor.

Scott said the cause of the fire was unknown but was believed to be accidental. He said smoke caused heavy smoke damage to the kitchen but no structural damage to the home at 128 Dover Drive. 

Firefighters from Moon and townships responded.
