Moon Getting New Chick-Fil-A, Michaels

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA — Chick-fil-A and Michaels will be the latest additions to University Square near Robert Morris University.

Chick-fil-A, one of the nation’s largest fast-food chains with more than 2,000 locations across the country, slated to open in November. It will be approximately 5,000 square-feet and will feature two drive-thru lanes.

This will be the second Chick-Fil-A to open in Moon but the first one convenient to residents and university students. The other one is located in Pittsburgh International Airport, according to the Chick-Fil-A website.

Michaels is opening a 21,000-square feet arts and crafts store early in 2025.

“The addition of Chick-fil-A and Michaels to University Square reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional restaurant and retail experiences and supporting the growth of the community,” Michele DeMarco, president of Union Real Estate, the shopping center's property manager, said in a release.

The new additions join Aldi, Planet Fitness, Dollar Tree and Buddy’s Ace Hardware in University Square. One outparcel in the shopping center remains available, located adjacent to Chick-fil-A.
