Update: Motorcycles Valued at $50,000 Stolen From Moon Store

Thieves cut chain-link fence to enter World of Motorcycles on University Boulevard.

Five motorcycles valued at nearly $50,000 were stolen from a Moon Township dealership this week. 

Moon Police said someone cut a portion of chain-link fencing surrounding the Moon Township World of Motorcycles on University Boulevard and removed the bikes from the parking lot. Police are unsure when the theft took place. 

The total value of the motorcycles was $48,187, according to a police report.

A manager at the store, who declined to give his name, said he could not comment on the theft. He said the staff believes the incident occurred sometime Sunday evening. He added that the store has suffered similar thefts in the past. 

The bikes reported stolen include a 2011 black Suzuki; a 2011 black and silver Suzuki; a 2011 blue and white Suzuki and a 2010 black Kawasaki. Store employees later reported that an older model Yamaha motorcycle also was missing from the store. The year and description of the Yamaha were unavailable.
