Pitcairn Road in Monroeville Will Be Reopened Tomorrow

A portion of Pitcairn Road in Monroeville will be reopened to traffic beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014.

The Allegheny County Department of Public Works today announced that a portion of Pitcairn Road in Monroeville will be reopened to traffic beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. The portion of Pitcairn Road between Monroeville Road and Stroeschein Road has been closed since the end of May to repair a landslide, and will now reopen tomorrow morning.

The $1 million project was completed by Pugliano Construction of Plum and was done on time and within budget.

Pitcairn Road between Stroeschein Road and PA-130 remains closed due to a June 2013 landslide. A project to repair that landslide is in design and will be bid this winter. The work is expected to begin in Spring of 2015.
