Ready, Set, Crawl! Moon Library Hosts Worm Race

Kids in grades one through five participate in the annual event.

It takes a little bit of dirt and a spritz of water, but they really do seem to race.

The ’s third annual worm race yesterday attracted more than 60 children in grades one through five to the popular event.

The concept is simple: Each participant brings a worm (and a back-up) to cheer it on its way to the dirt-pile finish line.

"It's definitely one of our more popular events," said Megan Goode, children's librarian. "The kids just really seem to enjoy it."
