RMU Football Selected in to Finish Third in NEC

The university's football team is selected by a poll of league head coaches.

football team has been picked to finish third this season in the Northeast Conference by a poll of league head coaches.

The team, which is coming off a 2010 overall record of 8-3, received one first-place vote in the conference's preseason coach's poll.

The team last year earned the NEC's inaugural bid to the NCAA Football Championship subdivision playoffs after a home victory over Central Connecticut State University.

Duquesne was selected to finish second in the NEC in 2010. Central Connecticut State University was picked as first.

The team begins its training camp Aug. 9 at Joe Walton Stadium on the university's campus. RMU will open its 2011 season Sept. 3 against the University of Dayton. Nine starters will return to the team's lineup from last season.
