RMU Senior Earns Tim Hall Memorial Scholarship

RMU grad Tim Hall, who was killed in 1998, went on to play for the Oakland Raiders.

A senior has been awarded the university's first Tim Hall Memorial Scholarship in remembrance of a former RMU running back.

Jamar Cromwell, a senior redshirt who this fall is a leading candidate to start as fullback for the Colonials, was awarded the inaugural scholarship July 14. The university did not disclose the scholarship amount.

In Cromwell's two seasons at RMU, he has appeared in 19 games, rushing 19 times for 78 yards and has had one touchdown while owning two receptions for 20 yards, according to a university statement. He is a transfer student from Kent State.

The Tim Hall Memorial Scholarship was first created in 2001 to honor the legacy of the former RMU running back who was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 1996. Hall came to RMU in 1994 from Kemper Military School in Missouri.

Hall was killed in 1998; he was inducted into RMU's Athletic Hall of Fame that same year.
