Robinson Business Among New Food Establishments

Twenty-one new food establishments opened in Allegheny County in May, according to a just-released report from the Allegheny County Health Department.  

A catering business, First Class Caterers of 310 Vista Park Drive in Robinson Township, is among the places. 

In all, there were 11 restaurants, two confectionaries, a coffee house, a tea house, two convenience stores, two grocery stores, a delicatessen, and a caterer.

Acting County Health Director Dr. Ron Voorhees said the monthly report also highlights new restaurants that use trans-fat free cooking oils. Of the new restaurants, 10 out of 11 use the healthier cooking oils. 

The restaurants using trans-fat free cooking oils are:

• Off The Hook, 908 Warrendale Village Drive, Marshall; 
• I Tea Café, 709 Bellefonte St., Shadyside; 
• Naya, 2018 Murray Ave., Squirrel Hill; 
• Thai Hana Restaurant, 3608 Fifth Ave., Oakland; 
• The Farmer’s Table, 245 East Eight Ave., Homestead; 
• Mama Lena’s 2, 732 Broadway Ave., McKees Rocks
• Drea’s, 623 Chartiers Ave., both in McKees Rocks; 
• Muscle Maker Grill, 2767 East Carson St., Southside; 
• Wintzell’s Oyster House, 530 East Bruceton Road, Pleasant Hills; 
• Asian House, 1300 Hoffman Boulevard, Suite 1808, Duquesne.

 The other restaurant is Family Restaurant, 2614 Brownsville Road, Carrick.

Ten other food establishments opened last month: 

• Gryphon’s Tea, 4127 Butler St., Lawrenceville; 
• Kathmandu Mart, 2050 Brownsville Road, Carrick; 
• Broadway Market, 295 Broadway Ave., McKees Rocks; 
• International Market, 13 DeWalt Ave., Brentwood; 
• First Class Caterers, 310 Vista Park Drive, Robinson; 
• The Beer Market, 110 Federal St., North Side
• Just Bean Coffeehouse, 417 East Ohio St., North Side; 
• Waffallonia, Schenley Plaza, Oakland; 
• The Just 8 Deli, 4961 William Flynn Highway, Shaler; 
• 5th Avenue Ice Cream, 324 Fifth Ave., McKeesport.
