Woman Charged After Loaded Gun Seized At Pittsburgh Airport

Yet another traveler was caught attempting to bring a gun aboard a flight at Pittsburgh International Airport.

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA — Allegheny County police have filed charges against a West Virginia woman after a firearm was discovered at the main security checkpoint at Pittsburgh International Airport on Wednesday.

The gun, the 33rd intercepted at the airport this year, was loaded with 10 bullets.

Transportation Security Administration officers observed a handgun in a passenger’s carry-on bag at the security checkpoint and alerted police, who determined the traveler did not possess a concealed carry permit. Patricia Parker, 65, now faces a misdemeanor charge of carrying a firearm without a license.

Police seized the firearm and notified the FBI.

Passengers who bring firearms into an airport checkpoint can face federal civil fines from the TSA up to $10,000. Repeat offenders can be fined up to $13,910.
