LAMBERTVILLE, NJ - The Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance Squad searched throughout the day on Tuesday for a 23-year-old who they said went missing while swimming in the Delaware River.

"Despite the efforts of many, the search continues," the squad posted Tuesday night on its Facebook page. "Our hearts are heavy, and we’re holding this young person’s loved ones in our thoughts.

"We share this not to sensationalize, but to remind our community: the river can be incredibly deceptive. Even strong swimmers can find themselves in danger within moments. Currents can change quickly. Depths can surprise you. And emergencies can happen in an instant."
