5 New Hope-Lambertville Nonprofits To Support This Holiday Season
With the giving season nearly here, Patch readers should check out some of these local non-profit groups while considering local donations.
NEW HOPE-LAMBERTVILLE —If you’re like many of your New Hope-Lambertville neighbors, you may spend a good part of the holiday season with your credit card in hand buying gifts for family and friends. Coming up soon is a chance to give back to the local community.
Giving Tuesday, which in 2024 falls on Dec. 3, is a day dedicated to supporting nonprofit and community groups. Since 2012, nonprofits worldwide have used the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to galvanize fundraising, rally volunteers and add momentum to their causes.
Maintaining funding is a constant challenge for many nonprofits that fill gaps and meet other needs in the New Hope-Lambertville area.

Here are five local nonprofits to consider getting behind on Giving Tuesday:
1. New Hope Historical Society: The New Hope Historical Society is committed to a twofold mission. 1. To preserve and promote the diverse historical influence of New Hope through the stewardship of historic collections, research, and educational activities so that succeeding generations may benefit from the shared knowledge of local history. 2. To maintain, protect and preserve the Parry Mansion and affiliated structures as a window into how past generations lived, while conserving and offering a collection of documents, objects, and paintings available for viewing through tours and exhibits.

2. Friends of the Delaware Canal: The Friends of the Delaware Canal works to protect, preserve, and improve the historic Delaware Canal and its surroundings. Its primary initiatives are to support The Pennsylvania Department of Natural Resources (DCNR) & the Delaware Canal State Park to maintain a fully watered canal and usable towpath trail from Easton to Bristol.
3. New Hope Arts: New Hope Arts is dedicated to furthering the heritage of New Hope as a center for art and artists. The nonprofit supports artists by fostering opportunities and providing space to create, collaborate and present their work. New Hope Arts offers residents and visitors of the region access to a broad array of contemporary visual, performing and literary arts.
4. The Bucks County SPCA: The Bucks County SPCA assists animals in need and prevents suffering through rescue, rehoming, cruelty investigations and prosecution, and community outreach.
5. Fisherman's Mark: Fisherman’s Mark has been a part of the community for more than 40 years. The Lambertville-based nonprofit provides services that meet basic needs, such as food and affordable childcare. Its comprehensive programs are aimed at breaking the cycle of crisis and to promote self-sufficiency and wellness. Fisherman's Mark assists with any crisis that presents: homelessness, domestic violence, job-loss, insurance issues, financial or medical emergencies, substance abuse, and mental health issues.
