Beloved 12-Year Lambertville Fire Chairman Moving On
Al Komjathy is credited with playing an instrumental role in shaping what the Lambertville Fire Department looks like today.

LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — After 12 years of service, the chairman of the Lambertville board of fire commissioners retired from the role Monday.
Al Komjathy, known around town as "Uncle Al," will now focus his time on operating his business, the government affairs Komjathy & Kean. He also serves as a commissioner on the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.
"Al was instrumental in the formation of the current city of Lambertville Fire Department, the consolidation of the [city's] four fire companies, the formation of the career staff, and the purchase of much needed modern equipment," the City of Lambertville Fire District wrote online, calling these "some of his many accomplishments."
