Collectors Day 1: Wednesday, January 28th

Day 1 of the Collectors Auction features coins, bullion, jewelry, watches, medals, books, historical ephemera, furniture, and rugs. Numismatic offerings include a 14k 1893 $10 Liberty Head Gold Coin Bracelet, $5 gold bullion coins, 1/10 oz gold bullion, and mixed U.S. silver coin groupings. Jewelry includes gold bracelets, diamond rings, opal jewelry, and gold earrings. Watches are led by a Howard 14k pocket watch with fob, with wristwatches by TAG Heuer, Itraco, Dunhill, Julien d’Orcel, and Krieger. Medals and commemoratives include Franklin Mint sterling silver Presidential medals, UN Peace medals, First Ladies medals, and a Norman Rockwell sterling silver plate. Books include Life of Admiral Nelson in fine binding, Napoleon and Waterloo-related volumes, Howard Pyle illustrated books, early 19th-century bindings, and fore-edge painted books. Historical ephemera includes a Civil War archive tied to the 56th Pennsylvania Infantry, Pennsylvania banknotes, and CDV albums. Furniture offerings include a Hepplewhite maple slant-front desk, Eldred Wheeler dressing tables, and multiple L. & J.G. Stickley tables and desks. Rugs include Persian Heriz, Sarouk, Kerman, Hamadan, and Kashan silk examples, along with Caucasian and Oriental rugs. The Novelty section features a Mills quarter slot machine, a Bally Midway Ms. Pac-Man Cocktail arcade game, railroad signs, a painted sleigh, and an early 20th c. Blue Streak child’s pedal car.

Day 2 of the Collectors Auction features Chinese, Japanese, and Russian offerings alongside primitives, decorative objects, bronzes, and fine art. Chinese examples include a Transitional porcelain sleeve vase, a yellow ground porcelain dragon dish, Ruoshen teacups, crackle glaze hu vases, clair de lune porcelain, phoenix medallion bowls, porcelain garden stools, and ceremonial and enameled silver objects. Japanese offerings include a moriage cloisonné box, a Hidenao bronze peacock, a Shibayama lacquer inro, a goldstone cloisonné censer, Bisansha silver sake cups, Imari porcelain, Shozan for Koshida Satsuma pottery, and woodblock prints by Utagawa Hiroshige and Kitagawa Utamaro. Russian icons include numerous 19th-century Orthodox examples, both individual panels and grouped lots, with painted and silver oklad icons represented. Primitive offerings include 19th-century needlework samplers, including an 1822 verse sampler. Decorative objects include Murano glass fruit and birds and related glass and porcelain items. Fine art includes works by Walter Emerson Baum, George William Sotter, Melville F. Stark, Giovanni Martino, Christopher G. Willett, and Thomas Sully.
