Quint 46 arrived first and positioned on the side of the building. An attack line was stretched to the
corner and operated through the basement windows in a transitional attack mode while containing fire on the exterior of the building.
Tanker 5 arrived and immediately supplied Quint 46. Two members of the Quint 46 crew entered the basement, located the fire, and performed a primary search. Ladder 5 arrived and stretched an attack line through the front door to the basement stairs. The Quint 46 crew assisted Ladder 5 with knocking down the visible fire.
Crews began extensive overhaul operations to ensure the fire was completely extinguished. A number of voids had to be opened up to extinguish pockets of fire, said the firefighters.
The fire was declared under control at 2:01 a.m. and units were released as conditions improved. The last units cleared the scene around 4:30 a.m.
The cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation by the Bucks County Fire Marshal's Office and Solebury Township Police and appears accidental.
