NEW HOPE, PA — The 21st Annual High Heels Drag Race will hit the ground running on Sunday, Oct. 26 on West Mechanic Street as part of New Hope Celebrates "OUT In October."

The public is invited to watch as a gang of glamorous ghouls speed to the finish line in this sinister stiletto showdown. This year’s theme is “Nightmare on Mechanic Street."

Hosted by none other than New Hope’s Miss Pumpkin and sponsored by 94.5 PST, race participants must dress in Halloween-inspired drag costumes and wear 3-inch or taller high heels. Runners will race up the hill on W. Mechanic Street, decorate a pumpkin, and race back down the hill.

Arrive early, by 2 p.m., before the streets close, to grab a prime viewing spot and get in on the Halloween fun. DJ Gavin will keep the crowd energized with music leading up to the big race at 3 p.m.

The event marks an important milestone this year - the 10th year that NHC has managed the iconic race. Since taking the reins in 2015, NHC has grown the beloved tradition into one of the most anticipated events of the year, drawing a huge crowd to West Mechanic Street to cheer on the queens, kings, and all who dare to race in heels.

“OUT in October has always been about more than events – it’s about community, resilience, and pride,” said Melissa Patterson, President of New Hope Celebrates. “The High Heel Drag Race is the grand finale that brings it all together, and as we celebrate this milestone year, we’re pulling out all the stops. Get ready for high heels, fabulous drag, and maybe a special surprise for this year’s spine-chilling theme, Nightmare on Mechanic Street.”

The event is free for attendees. There will be a 50/50 raffle and limited edition HHDR t-shirts available for sale with all proceeds benefiting New Hope Celebrates.

After the confetti has fallen, cap off the celebration with the official After Party hosted by Miss NHC 2025, Asia Leigh Monroe, and Mr. NHC 2025, Ricky Suaven from 4 to 8 p.m. at Havana, 105 South Main Street. It’s the perfect way to close out one of New Hope’s most iconic traditions with music, performances, and community spirit. A $10 suggested donation at the door supports New Hope Celebrates and Pride 2026.
