NEW HOPE, PA — The New Hope Borough Police Department between April 7 and 13 responded to a variety of calls for service and initiated several investigations during the past week.

April 7

  • Officers responded to the area of South Main Street for a report of an intoxicated individual.
  • Police were dispatched to the New Hope Eagle Fire Company for a report of a man sleeping outside the station’s entrance. The individual was advised to leave the premises.
  • A civil dispute was investigated on Darien Way. The matter was resolved without incident.

  • While on routine patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop on West Bridge Street for a motor vehicle violation. During the stop, officers observed suspected narcotics in plain view. The vehicle was impounded pending further investigation.
  • Officers responded to the CVS parking lot on West Bridge Street for a report of a minor traffic accident. No injuries were reported.

April 10

  • Officers were dispatched to Union Square for the report of a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash. The complainant said a truck struck and knocked down a light pole before leaving the area. The investigation remains ongoing.
  • A suspicious vehicle was investigated in the area of West Bridge Street. No criminal activity was observed.
  • Officers responded to the 50 block of South Main Street for a report of harassment via electronic communications. The matter is under review.
  • Police responded to a commercial alarm on West Bridge Street. The business was found to be secure upon officers’ arrival.

April 12

  • Officers were dispatched to the area of South Main Street and Waterloo Street for a report of a physical altercation involving multiple individuals. Upon arrival, all subjects had left the scene. No injuries were reported, and no further information was available at the time.

April 13

  • Police responded to Bridge Street and Main Street for a reported domestic disturbance. Upon investigation, officers determined that a female victim had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The man was taken into custody and charged.
