NEW HOPE, PA — Motorists who use the New Hope-Lambertville Toll -Supported Bridge could again encounter periodic stoppages and travel delays during daytime hours this week.

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has announced that additional flagger-controlled alternating single-lane travel restrictions are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Nov. 24, and Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Bridge motorists are urged to reduced speeds, follow flagger instructions, and exercise caution when work crews are present on the bridge’s travel lanes.

The travel restrictions are needed so a commission contractor can install steel panels beneath the bridge’s roadway deck. Once installed, the steel panels will serve as a temporary work platform for electricians replacing short-circuiting electrical junction boxes at multiple locations across the bridge.

The contractor is attempting to complete the installations of steel panels before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. If the steel-panel-installation work remains incomplete before Thanksgiving, additional travel restrictions might be needed for a day or two in early December.
