NEW HOPE, PA — The New Hope Eagle Fire Company on Monday responded to the Delaware River for a subject possibly in distress and hanging from a boat in neighboring Upper Makefield.
The company launched Marine 46 from Fireman's Island and searched the river south until meeting up with Upper Makefield's Marine 71 and Union Fire Company's Marine 53.
The boat was eventually located, but no one was found in distress. "It was just an individual in the water wearing a personal flotation device and trying to beat the heat."
