New Lambertville Restaurant Local Greek To Host Grand Opening
"It's modern Greek comfort food," Local Greek's executive chef Stratos Karabasis said. "And we use great, local ingredients."

LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — A Princeton favorite is opening a second location in Lambertville, with a ribbon cutting for Local Greek coming Jan. 22 at 12 p.m.
Owner Tony Kanterakis said he's been eyeing the location at the former Towpath restaurant alongside the Delaware River for a few years.
"It’ll be the same concept and same flavors from Executive Chef Stratos Karabasis," he said. "Each location will have its own twist of character but the same cuisine."

Local Greek serves classic breakfast and brunch, with seafood and lamb dishes as well as the chef's favorite menu item, the homemade Pastitsio entree. They also serve house-made baklava and loukoumades.
"But it's about the overall experience," Kanterakis said. "From the waiters to the staff, to the restaurant’s energy."

At the grand opening, residents can enjoy a sampling of tastes from the Local Greek menu.
After setting a tone in Princeton, the team believes they can successfully provide a “necessary” addition to Lambertville's food scene. What’s more, the new Local Greek location will feature wines from a New Jersey vineyard called Old York Cellars.
“It’s modern Greek comfort food,” Karabasis said. “And we use great, local ingredients.”
Chef Karabasis plans to bounce between the Princeton and Lambertville locations, while the management staff will split between the two restaurants. Assistant Chef Elios Papa will be spending most of his time at the Lambertville location.
Kanterakis credits his cousin Manny Kanterakis of NEA Construction with helping to build out the newest location as well as the Princeton establishments, Local Greek and a spin-off cafe called Small Bites by Local Greek.
The Local Greek website will provide up-to-date hours of operation, menus, and more for the upcoming restaurant at 2 Canal St. Learn more about the grand opening here.
