Police Cite South Main Street Egg-Throwers: New Hope Crime Report

NEW HOPE BOROUGH, PA — The New Hope Borough Police Department responded to a variety of calls for service and initiated several investigations during the past week.

April 14

• Officers were dispatched to New Hope-Solebury High School around 7 p.m. for a report of a missing 14-year-old boy. An immediate search was initiated, and the juvenile was located safely a short time later.

April 17

• Police responded to 87 South Main Street for reports of individuals throwing eggs from a vehicle at patrons seated outside of the business. Officers quickly located and identified the suspects, who will be cited accordingly.

April 18

• Multiple calls were received regarding a pontoon boat stuck on the wing dam in the Delaware River. Responding, officers confirmed the boat was unoccupied and likely broke free from its dock. The vessel eventually cleared the dam and continued downstream. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and New Jersey State Police Marine Unit were notified.

April 19

• During routine traffic enforcement on Route 232, officers conducted a vehicle stop for a traffic violation. During the stop, suspected marijuana was found in the driver’s possession. The driver was released and will be charged via summons.
• A theft was reported at the Three Cranes Gallery; that investigation remains ongoing.
• Officers also received a report of criminal mischief involving a vehicle parked on North Main Street. The owner discovered the word “HONK” scratched into the paint. The incident is under investigation.

April 20

• Officers responded to several business alarms throughout the day. They were determined to be false with no signs of criminal activity.
• Assistance was provided to the Solebury Township Police Department during a domestic disturbance on River Road.
• Police investigated a report of suspicious activity on South Main Street. No criminal conduct was found.
