Police Investigating Scam, Thefts, Other Incidents In New Hope

The New Hope Borough Police Department reported the following incidents between March 17 and 23.

NEW HOPE BOROUGH, PA — The New Hope Borough Police Department reported the following incidents between March 17 and 23:

March 17

  • A resident reported a scam attempt. The victim received a call from an unknown person claiming to be a New Hope Police Officer and requesting they pick up their daughter. When the caller could not provide the daughter’s name, the victim recognized it as a scam and did not comply.

  • Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on South Main Street.

March 19

  • While on foot patrol, officers discovered an unsecured door at a business on West Mechanic Street. The interior was checked and the business was secured.

  • Officers responded to a traffic accident on North Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • A theft of hubcaps was reported from a residence on West Mechanic Street.

March 21

  • Officers are investigating a theft in the 20 block of North Main Street.
  • Police are investigating a suspicious incident that occurred at CVS.

March 22

  • Officers responded to a noise complaint on Summer Lea Court.

March 23

  • While on foot patrol, officers found an unsecured business. The business was checked and secured.
  • Officers conducted a welfare check on a woman on South Main Street who was found to be intoxicated. A friend was located to ensure she got home safely.
  • A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported on South Main Street. The striking vehicle was later identified.
