Police Make DUI Arrest, Investigate Assault In New Hope

NEW HOPE BOROUGH, PA — For the week of May 12 to 18, the New Hope Borough Police Department responded to a variety of calls for service and initiated several investigations. Here's a snapshot of some notable incidents from the past week:

May 12

• Officers investigated a domestic disturbance in Riverhill.
• A traffic stop for a violation led to the arrest of a driver for driving under the influence of alcohol.

May 16

• Police investigated a suspicious person in the Tahoe area. The individual was successfully identified.
• Police responded to a report of a disorderly group of intoxicated people at the Logan Inn. By the time police arrived, the group had left the area.
• A domestic disturbance was reported on S. Main Street.

May 17

• The Pride Parade and Fair took place with no incidents or arrests.

May 18

• Officers responded to the Logan Inn for a stolen vehicle report, but quickly located the car parked at Union Square where the owner had left it.
• A man was assaulted in the area of 8 West Mechanic Street. An investigation into the incident is continuing.
