Questions
Why are you running for mayor?
I am running for mayor so that a generation from now, New Hope will continue to remain a worthy destination for everyone. I am familiar with many aspects of the position of mayor. I worked as a police officer for many years in the Borough. Both in my work and as a longtime resident, I’ve attended many Borough Council meetings, so I understand how the Borough works. As mayor, I will advocate for residents and encourage balanced, environmentally-friendly development when possible, and will work to maintain the natural beauty and historic charm of our beloved town. I am a big believer in communication and transparency, and will bring those to the position of mayor.

What do you see as the major issues in town, and how will you address them?
In New Hope, the mayor's primary role is to work with the Chief of Police to oversee the police department and help lead during emergencies. As a retired New Hope police officer and former interim police chief, I will continue the tradition of community policing. As mayor, I will reintroduce weekly police reports, bring back bike patrol, and ensure traffic assistance on busy weekends in the area of Bridge and Main streets. I will enforce our speeding and noise ordinances, especially on weekends when some motorcycles are especially loud. I will work to inform our residents about emergency preparedness. I will also encourage our Borough Council to create a broader resident parking permitting program.
What kind of mayor will you be?
I will act as the face of the community. A town is only as great as its people. As mayor, I will encourage more residents and business owners to get involved with local committees, boards, and nonprofits. I will also encourage residents to support New Hope businesses and nonprofits, which are vital to promoting the arts, entertainment, and diversity in our town. I will be an advocate for residents on the town's quality of life issues. I will work to preserve New Hope’s charm and history of openness and acceptance. I will maintain a positive relationship with officials and neighboring towns, and I will produce a monthly mayor's report.
