Sock Drive For Bucks Co.'s Houseless Population Starts Nov. 28
"The Great Sock Drive" will benefit Bucks County's homeless population, which St. Philip's Episcopal Church says numbers more than 300.

NEW HOPE, PA — The Great Sock Drive of 2021 is seeking to help people without homes in the Bucks County area.
Around 333 people in the county are houseless, including 121 children, according to a news release from St. Philip's Episcopal Church. People live in their cars, in shelters, or out in the elements. Since laundry access can be infrequent, the Great Sock Drive seeks to address issues like infections or even frostbite from wet socks in the wintertime by ensuring Bucks County's houseless population has access to dry socks.
Several area groups, including Code Blue, are seeking to help people without homes in Bucks. Distributing socks, as the parish has for five years, is one concrete area where people can easily aid in the course of their normal holiday shopping.

“We many times feel overwhelmed when trying to address issues of poverty. Rather than lose hope, let us give new hope to others,” said Reverend Michael Ruk, the pastor of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in New Hope.
In 2020, the parish collected more than 2,800 pairs of socks to distribute.
