Star Wars To Storm The Streets Of New Hope Sunday Afternoon

Coming to New Hope from "a galaxy far, far away," Star Wars Day will feature costumed characters, specialty drinks, and lots more.

NEW HOPE, PA — The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce will bring Star Wars to New Hope Sunday afternoon as it celebrates May the 4th (Star Wars Day) from 12 to 4 p.m.

Coming to New Hope from "a galaxy far, far away," Star Wars characters will invade the streets of town during a day featuring everything Star Wars, including themed drinks, costume contests, special sales, and activities.

Characters are presented courtesy of Garrison Carida, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to spreading joy through costuming. Look for them visiting more than a dozen New Hope establishments, including Ferry Market, 4 the Love of Things, Fran’s Pub, Plant Haus, OldeStone, GreenHouse New Hope, Logan Inn, The Deck, Havana’s, John & Peter’s, V-Spot, Nozomu, and more.

Local businesses will join the fun with Star Wars-themed cocktails, costume contests, sales, events, and specials, creating a vibrant, immersive experience for visitors.

The New Hope Star Wars Day character activation is family-friendly and open to the public.

“This is our second year hosting Star Wars Day in New Hope, and it’s such a cool and exciting event that brings our community together in a fun, unique way,” said Michael Sklar, President of the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce. “Seeing fans of all ages connect with these iconic characters and enjoy the creativity of our local businesses makes this day truly special.”

The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce is again joining Garrison Carida, of the 501st Region, to bring Star Wars to life on Main Street. The 501st Legion is a worldwide Star Wars costuming organization comprised of and operated by Star Wars fans.

“We are the central and eastern Garrison of Pennsylvania," said Dave Kreyling, Commanding Officer for Garrison Carida. "Garrison Carida is part of the 501st Legion, which is a worldwide costume organization. We are the Bad Guys Doing Good. Garrison Carida encourages donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to support their mission of granting wishes for children with critical illnesses."

  • Playhouse Deck Restaurant and Bar at Bucks County Playhouse (70 S. Main)

Local businesses will also join the festivities with Star Wars-themed cocktails, sales, events, and specials, creating a vibrant, immersive experience for visitors. Some of the events include:

  • GreenHouse New Hope (90 S Main Street, New Hope) - Special theme drinks, including Tatooine Sunrise, twin suns rise in every sip.
  • Havana (105 S Main St, New Hope) - A signature YodaRita cocktail for the day.
  • Nozomu Sushi (9 West Mechanic Street, New Hope) - Serving specialty Luke Skywalker and Yoda sushi rolls.
  • Plant Haus (127 South Main Street Suite. D, New Hope) - From 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Plant Haus will be hosting a “Galaxy Paint & Pot” event, perfect for creative Star Wars fans. During this guided painting session, you'll discover the unique painting method used to craft this far-far-away-galaxy-themed plant pot. No prior experience is necessary. This session is ideal for any skill level, and you'll get step-by-step instructions to create your own stunning planter. Tickets include a planter, art supplies, and guidance. Suitable for all ages.   • Playhouse Deck Restaurant and Bar at Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street, New Hope) - Cantina Quizzo starting at 5 p.m with Star Wars-inspired drink specials like Blue Milk and Bombad Brew (including a non-alcoholic option such as a Baby Yoda Soda), plus exciting scavenger hunts.
  • OldeStone Steakhouse (15 S. Main, New Hope) - Special featured drink Rebellion Rum Runner bold fruit punch with a rallying cry kick.
  • .New Hope Visitors Center (1 W. Mechanic, New Hope) - Local Girl Scouts will do a Star Wars-inspired art and craft with face marks for kids.
