Tractor-Trailer In Wrong Lane Kills Lambertville Woman, 80: Reports

The woman suffered fatal injuries after a large freightliner truck collided with her Toyota on Route 31, New Jersey State Police said.

EAST AMWELL, NJ — An 80-year-old Lambertville woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when a tractor-trailer crashed into her car, according to authorities and multiple reports.

The crash occurred at 12:39 p.m. Wednesday, according to MidJersey News. The cars were traveling on Route 31 near milepost 15 in East Amwell Township.

WRNJ reported that a preliminary police investigation found the freightliner truck was traveling north on Route 31, while Qaneta A. Zaafar, 80, was traveling southbound in her Toyota.

The freightliner then entered the southbound lanes and collided with her car, police said.

New Jersey State Police said Zaafar died from her injuries.
